The former Franklin, Tennessee, deputy was arrested and faces eight separate federal charges, despite new video evidence that appears to corroborate his detailing of events and pushes back against the charges and narrative surrounding his role that day. Colton McAbee has been offered a plea deal from D.C. prosecutors but maintains his innocence, opting instead for his day in court. Can McAbee get a fair trial inside Biden’s beltway? I met Sarah earlier this month. I learned her story over a long lunch hour in Palm Beach. While I'd like to expand on the details of that meet up, I wanted to introduce her today, seeing that her husband is set for sentencing tomorrow at 10 am EST.

Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and other House Republicans heard from witnesses about investigations and prosecutions related to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Witnesses included persons convicted of participating in the attack, as well as their family members. This event occurred on the same day former President Trump was arraigned for charges of mishandling classified documents and obstruction of justice. Rep. Taylor Greene referenced this case, saying Mr. Trump and January 6 defendants were victims of a “weaponized government.” In May of 2023, she announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Matthew Graves for his prosecution of participants in the attack.

Former Tennessee deputy Ronald McAbee was at The Capitol on January 6th, 2021. In the middle of all the commotion, he tried to render lifesaving aid to a dying Rosanne Boyland. In addition, he helped a fallen officer who was being attacked named Andrew Wyatt. Despite all of this, McAbee was arrested on Aug. 17, 2021, and has not been home since.
